If you spend any time with James and Elle, I mean any time at all, you will quickly experience how much they genuinely love people. Elle is one of my best friends from high school, and she is one of the most generous people I know. One freezing winter night we were in high school leaving a concert in Dallas and we saw a girl on the corner of the street crying and cold and she took off her very expensive jacket and gave it to her. She didn't make a big scene about it or to get attention from other people, she just saw a person in need and did what she could.
(On the other hand, I could tell you a million stories about how fun and adventurous this girl is...like the time when we were 18 when we drove to Austin in my beat-up minivan for a 21 and up concert and snuck backstage to hang with the band...but I'll leave those for another time.)
For years I have wondered who would be the lucky man to get to marry one of the most amazing ladies I know.
And then James came into the picture.
Being the overly protective friend that I am, I was skeptical--is this guy going to take care of my friend, love her deeply, advocate for her, dream with her, laugh with her, stay up late dancing in the kitchen with her--but all it took was one afternoon hanging with this guy to realize that the answer to these questions and more is a resounding YES.
James and Elle: I'm excited for your journey and the story God is unfolding for the two of you. Your wedding...oh your wedding...well it's going to be the event of the 2013 year. I love y'all, and am so blessed to have you in my life!
These shots of laughing make me smile...this is SOOOO her!
He liked it and is darn proud of the ring he put on it.
